Wilmette is a vibrant community located in the New Trier township. The Village extends approximately five miles west from Lake Michigan and is approximately one mile wide. Wilmette was incorporated as a municipal corporation in 1872 and is a full service community that offers citizens the very best in police, fire, public works and administrative services. 

In terms of educational opportunities, Wilmette offers great public schools within the Wilmette Distric 39, the Avoca school District 37, as well as great private schools including Regina Dominican High School and Loyola Academy. Wilmette has two houses built by Frank Lloyd Wright: the Frank J. Baker House (and carriage house) and the Lewis Burleigh House (also known as the JJ O'Connor House). In addition, Wilmette has homes designed by Wright's contemporaries in the field of Prairie School architecture, including John S. Van Bergen.
