The village of Barrington is known by its motto of "a great place to live, work, and play!". It is located approximately 32 miles northwest of Chicago and the area features wetlands, forest preserves, walking and biking trails, parks, and horse trails in a country-suburban setting. Barrington has an approximate population of 20,000 people. In addition, the village hosts the "Barrington Brew Fest", a mid-summer event showcasing Midwest microbrewers and local entertainment, as well as the "Great Taste Fest of Barrington", a food festival exhibiting fare from local restaurants.

Barrington School District 220 offers several amazing private and public educational opportunities including the nationally recognized Barrington High School, the St. Anne School, Barrington Middle School Prairie and Station campuses, and the Hough Street School. Conveniently located just 3 miles from the town center, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital is one of the top-rated facilities in the state.
